How often should I have my chimney swept?

At least once a year for most fuels. If you burn wood regularly, twice a year is recommended due to creosote build-up.

Do you sweep all types of chimney?

Yes. We sweep open fires, woodburners, multifuel stoves, gas fires and oil-fired appliance flues.

Will chimney sweeping make a mess?

No. We take care to protect your home with dust sheets and use specialist equipment to contain soot and debris.

Do I get a certificate after sweeping?

Yes. A sweeping certificate is provided after every visit, which is also useful for home insurance purposes.

Can you sweep a chimney that hasn't been used for years?

Yes. We can sweep and inspect disused chimneys. A CCTV survey may also be recommended to check the condition before bringing a chimney back into use.

Is chimney sweeping required for rental properties?

Landlords have a responsibility to ensure chimneys and flues are safe. Regular sweeping is strongly recommended and often required by insurance.
