What actually happens when we arrive
- Step 1
We look before we brush
The appliance and the fireplace opening get checked first, so anything obvious such as a blockage, a damaged component or a poor seal is spotted before work starts rather than halfway through.
- Step 2
Your room gets protected
Floors and nearby furniture are covered with dust sheets and the hearth is sealed off. Sealed brushes and HEPA-filtered vacuum equipment keep the soot inside the equipment instead of in your living room.

The flue is swept properly
Soot, creosote and debris are removed along the full length of the flue. Clearing that build-up is what reduces the risk of a chimney fire and keeps carbon monoxide going up the chimney rather than into the house.

You get a certificate
A sweeping certificate is issued every visit, confirming the work carried out and the condition of the chimney. Home insurers commonly ask for it, and letting agencies use it as their record.

At least once a year for most fuels, ideally before the heating season starts. If you burn wood, consider twice a year, because wood produces more creosote. Heavy users benefit from more frequent visits, and we will advise on the right schedule for your fuel and usage.
Will sweeping leave soot through my house?
No. Floors and surrounding furniture are protected with dust sheets, and we use sealed brushes with HEPA-filtered vacuum equipment so the soot stays contained from start to finish.
Do I get paperwork afterwards?
